Volunteer Service to the Cary Tamil School by the Parents

Cary Tamil school encourages the active participation of parent volunteers during class days so that classes start on time and are held safely. Accordingly, the parents are required to perform volunteer services a few times every year. This number will be determined by the number of students enrolled in the school. This service requires only a very small effort on the part of the parents compared to the dedicated efforts of the Cary Tamil School’s staff members. (Some of the services of the parents are shown below separately.)

Each family has the opportunity to sign up for volunteer services online starting in August.

Following are some of the volunteering activities that parent volunteers are expected to carry out:
1) Arranging the tables and chairs in the classrooms.
2) Helping with the regulation of traffic in the car pool lane before school start time (1:45 PM - 2:10 PM).  Helping with the dispersal between 3:45 PM and 4:00 PM.
3) Distribution and collection of Cary Tamil School library books.
4) Hall monitoring during class hours to ensure order in classrooms and hallways as well as students' safety.

The volunteers MUST come at 1:45 PM to help with the arrangement of tables and chairs before the start of the classes.  Similarly, the volunteers must help with the arrangement of tables and chairs at the end of the classes. Volunteers are expected to stay 5-10 minutes beyond 4:00 PM in order to complete the table and chair arrangements.
